Meet Kristin
Thanks for stopping by! I’m the creator behind Kristin VanKampen Quilting. I’m originally from Northern Michigan and now live in West Michigan with my husband and two daughters, ages 6 and 4.
I’ve always loved creating. There is nothing more energizing to me than wandering the aisles of a craft or fabric store looking for inspiration. I received my first sewing machine in 2015 and finished my first simple quilt after taking a free online class. I was in love. Since then I have pushed myself to learn new techniques and create quilts and projects that bring joy and celebrate the beauty of color and texture. My absolute favorite thing is to help others create quilts that speak to them. I love the process of creating something unique that will be used and loved—and yes, even washed!
After finishing all my quilts on my home machine for five years, I bought my first longarm (a Handi Quilter Amara) in 2020. I immediately fell in love with longarm quilting. I had always enjoyed the process of free-motion quilting, and with the longarm the design possibilities are endless. All my work is hand-guided, and I love to collaborate with clients to choose designs that enhance their quilt and fabrics. I will work with you to figure out the best way to turn that quilt top into a finished quilt!
You can find me sharing about my quilting on Instagram or Facebook.
